Vanduul Ship analysis & proposed battle plan
I recently finished an extensive Vanduul ship analysis for the Intelligence, Research and Data Analysis center.

After spending hours going through all of that information, I'm proposing a new approach to battling the Vanduul.

Would love to hear thoughts / feedback / questions on all of this!

Good analysis based on what we currently know  :) Worth exploring further.

What we for example would still need to know:

1. To what extend does the Vanduul economy rely on its space logistics and production vs planetside logistics and production

2. Will taking out Vanduul support, logistics and economy assets indeed lead to slower Vanduul deployment 2b. Will the Vanduul redeploy forces in response

3. To what extend does CIG 'cheat' to help the Vanduul economy (will there be safeties in place to prevent breaking)

Have a look on this thread, especially the comments #43 - 49 and #69.

We draw some similar conclusions.

Interesting, I think there was too much doubt in our capability to attack there infrastructure. With proper recon + Intel influencing strategy, I believe we have a very high chance of successfully targeting them.

As I said in some of my slides though, that strategy will have to be followed completely. We'll probably have multiple attacks staged to go for day 1 targeting the biggest assets, with alternate plans if the Vanduul decide to change what they have been previously doing. A full out surprise assault on there resources, with no focus on taking out there battle ships, would give us a major upper-hand and leave the Vanduul is an unsustainable position.

If my system graph is right, the Vanduul would be forced to protect whatever infrastructure is left and leave territory mostly unprotected.

I gave a read to your battle plans but I think there may be a problem.

Vanduuls' infrastructures and Vanduuls' fleet are one and the same, from what I understood the Vanduuls rely mostly on their harvesters to pillage the systems and supply the ships they are currently in, so it makes no sense to separate the resources from the troops when out of combat.

I think we may expect to see our targets right next to a kingship or at least some maulers and hunters, but then a good countermeasure would be hit and run tactics on one big target.

I would say that the best way to damage their infrastructures is to target their flagships, damage it heavily on the command post and run. A few small ships getting under their shields with dumbfire missiles would be devastating.

No big ships for defence, no resistance. Once the fleet's defences are down it would be time to go for a full frontal assault on the remnant of it.

You are for a crippling guerilla warfare, I'm more for a guillotine strategy, cut the head until it stops growing back and then get rid of the body.

But then again, it's all on my own interpretation from the artworks and the lore so I have a high chance of being totally wrong. And it's all on the postulate that it would work.
