Hmmm, me thinks the independents are avoiding the site, lol, or at least this section. I guess most of the independent gathering and communicating is taking place on the RSI forums.

Yeah, I'm trying to direct some here, but independents being independents, I can barely even get the ones on here to take a look at this place.

Hopefully as we get closer to the date, more people will come here to pick up last minute crews or find ships to crew.

I think part of that is that is that it's way too early to be deciding on wingmen and crew members, at least by my view. I know that I'll almost certainly be needing a crew for my Retaliator for the assault phase of the op, but I'd rather wait till I have a feel of the people's personalities in the DFM and the early parts of the beta before I decide who I want with me.

If I still have spaces open a couple weeks before it goes down then I'll make a post here looking for people to fill spots.

You made me think there was some sort of affiliation you were starting that Lone Wolves could declare, indicating they are doing independent recon.

I got excited    But it was just a complaint about the sound of the wind blowing through this sub-forum...Now I'm sad.

Wait!  Couldn't we kick off discussion using exactly that as the premiss?  Just start a couple of threads specifically about tasks/roles that a Lone Wolf would excel at and invite them to do it?

Hey sounds good to me Talkyn! lol. I'll be in the same boat Jaustin. Hopefully I'll have a connie for the mission, but if not I'll have my lancer. Now that it's LTI I won't be upgrading it directly to Rear Admiral, but I might end up getting enough extra cash to buy one anyway. I'm still trying to figure out what my role will be for the OP. I'm thinking maybe scoop and shoot (pick up pods and then suppression fire). The large cargo hold on a lancer makes it good for that sort of thing.

So I'm Suoja from Finland (GTM +2) and will mostly be available for a few hours at time most of the days. I have an SH which I'm going to pilot, but I can crew any post at any ship that is willing to take me, in the European timezone. I've done huge amounts of flying around in WingCommanders I to III and FreeSpace 1 to 2.

Being overly social I'd most rather spent time within some group of ppl that can follow orders from the high command. I have not yet joined any of the corporations(guilds) that are out there since my starting location depends quite much from my IRL friends, what they'll decide to do when the time comes. That's a small group of 3 to 7 guys who mostly play together no matter what game it is.
Only exception being wow where I was part of 100 to 250 guys guilds in most cases with active groups being about 20 to 50 ppl at time. I don't mind taking orders, but I'm not very good leader myself (I tend to act by my gut instead of reason when faced with fast decisions).

Since we seem to have much more vessels than pilots /crew atm, I'd be more than willing to be on anyones ship performing duties that they seem necessary and bring on my SH when everything else is lost. I fully expect us all to die gloriously in a few generations during the OP so if you need a turret crew or fighter escort to do something absurdly risky or outright suicidal, count me in!

Hey, SuojaKerroin, that was a pretty good post, I'm going to split it into its own thread here on the LW and Indy board, since this thread was more about the lack of utilization of the board as a whole.

But then again, you guys could become an independent group of flyers for OPPF calling themselves Tumbleweeds! Haha, it'd be a funny story when people ask you where the name came from when you're flying in OPPF.

Oh, boy. Well I couldn't find the general independent thread floating about. So I introduced myself into the one that complained that nobody uses it ^^ But yes, by all means you're free to move my post into somewhere where it will be more useful and in context as well. Unfortunately no, I have set up the proper propaganda. They seem to be content to sit this one out or as one of them said "Go get one of their ships for us".

I do know however that a certain member of TEST going by the name of schrimpanzer is a member of operation trident. In the duration of Pitchfork, i will kill him on sight.

I had a bad feeling about most of TEST in regards to OPPF from lurking in some of their threads. I'm a bit jaded by their overall behavior in games like EVE, though, so I was hoping it was just my own bias that was coloring it.

I just hope they don't back the Dents "for the LULZ", because then that might actually make the Dents a problem for us. And possibly undermine this community event a little bit.

I have a Retaliator (bomber), a Super Horny (fighter), Cutlass (tow truck), Freelancer (cargo hauler), and will have a Mustang (hot rod?).  I can fly any of them in the op, depending on what's needed.

We let our members do as they please, up to and including a little friendly fighting over events like OP.

I keep hearing that, but then I've also been picking up a ton of inside jokes among members about EVE Test stuff. I haven't been able to figure out what the percent composition.
