Operation Pitchfork Physical Edition Coins
There have been requests to make the 3D coin into a physical coin for participating members of Operation Pitchfork. Jonais on the RSI forums has looked into getting it done with the site linked at the bottom of this post. We'll need over a hundred people willing to buy one at about $4.00 (plus shipping) to get a coin manufactured. If we can get the interested generated, we'll work out how to get the orders handled.

We are currently working off of Supremacy's coin design for the proposed order. Below is the sign up sheet.

Artists, please submit design proposals for the backside of the coin.

I'm planning on getting one. It'll go good with the collection of military coins I already have.

A couple of other people posted these link in the thread, just to have other options on pricing and back up manufactures.

Would prefer a large coin than a smaller, personally.

Could probably send some to CIG also.

I'd be up for a coin as long as it wasn't too pricey

*raises hand* I'd be interested in one.

Perhaps we could all pitch in a little extra and buy a few for Wingman and his lot, we'd probably get a mention in WH again xD

I'm totally down for kicking a few bucks out for a larger coin, AND sending a couple to CIG and CR.

I'd like to be able to send CR a coin in the display with the Pitch fork backstroy on it.

The middle one.

i have looked into making coins before and they are quite cheap to make,
if you stay away from the americian coin presses, and go overseas, it is as low as 10-35 cents a coin.
fancy ones are obviously more (like multi metal) but just cranking out a die from a cad file is quite inexpensive.

Yeah, that's pretty sweet. He's about to get his own Operation Pitchfork Stretch goal, haha! I'd totally put money towards that!

Actually Shank, that's a great idea. It would with a 100% certainty be placed in the CIG monter of fame. What a cool memento for CR; "So thousands of players banded together, fucked up the red herring and destroyed the servers. Before the game was even live. Then they sent me this. I love those guys"

Edit: plus it's classy as f*ck

I'd buy one for myself and one for my crewmate, so two. Don't mind if it's $10 each or 10¢ each. Not sure *when* we should buy them, though.

I would be interesting in getting it too... but I am not sure I will have the money to get one... and I would say we get them for those that end up in getting in the beta for the event... Hold off on making them till a few months before the event.

I'm all for pitching in, but I agree we should hold off on the minting until just before the Operation itself. I will likely also be picking them up for my fleet mates who are unable to contribute to the buy in.

A suggestion though, -if- we wind up with several divisions of flights (Front Line Fighters, R&R Carrier, Search and Rescue) would it be possible to generate coins or patches for those subdivisions?

I'm in. I'd suggest that we get some of the options as well, looking at the  pricing a 1.5" 2 sided satin gold coin with the epoxy coating would only cost $4.90 per coin and would look really nice.

As for the size I'd recommend sticking with the 1.5", it's a sizeable coin without being too big.

Comparison against a US quarter and a standard CD.
