When we did VBSS drills, we had to contend with small rooms and large hangar bays. Both room clearing and bounding are used, but the most part we only split into groups once we secured the ship's manifest and we had to make sure everyone (as well as the cargo) is accounted for.

Which is another thing we should plan for.

Assuming the engines are disabled when boarding, what are the primary objectives? We will need to secure everything vital as quickly as possible to gain control and prevent a self destruct.

So once the boarding squads enter, they should divide their forces. One squad heads for the bridge to cut off command, and the other to secure whatever powers the self destruct.

From there it gets fun. The boarding party must then hold their ground against the Vanduul trying to retake the ship, while also dicing the ship into safe grounds.

We will have to bring in reinforcements and take wounded as quickly as possible as well, so my Cavalry unit and others like us must work well with SAR and lone wolves and Pirate crews

It would also be interesting to see if we need to enter through the hangar or the airlocks or if it might be possible to ...create... new entrance points into the ship, maybe closer to critical areas than we could drop our boarding teams while being restricted to airlocks.
Also our tactics would probably depend on the interior design of vanduul ships. Do they use wide corridors that enable two or more marines to fire at the bacon at a time or narrow passages we could only pass through one soldier at a time? That's something we need to see and adjust our tactics to.
Another thing that came to my mind was the question of if and how we might be able to gain an interior map of a vanduul ship, since having to find critical areas without even knowing where to find them would result in a lot of confusion followed by lots of dying :-\.

Soon as they start pushing Bacon models out into the PU, I'll bet somebody starts ripping 'em apart in CryEngine to see what's modeled and starts taking notes or screencapping from there.
Anyone got a Con Andromeda Physical Goodies package you're thinking about melting for a Digital? Send me a note--maybe we can make a deal.

Yeah I expect very detailed schematics for us to use as time progresses.

On the topic of "creating" our own openings in Vanduul ships, CR stated that there will be holes we can blow out of ships to board that way, but the spots will be set, we won't be able to choose exactly where to cut. But yeah that's a good option, blow a hole in the side of a kingship, watch hundreds of Vanduul float out into space, then fly in and give them a warm welcome ;)

I would like to be on boarding duty as well, I can also be an engineer during flight.

CR did mention the ability to enter through "missile holes" or "other manufactured/created damage" in a hull in one of the 10forC!

Yes,but he also said before that they can't just be created anywhere they are preset(To make the game easier to run.), so we would still need to know where to aim or get lucky with making an entrance.
