Should we add Mustang as a possible ship for those who have already purchased an Aurora they intend to switch to a Mustang?

Also, I have edited my entry. My name on here is Knightcrawler, but on the RSI forum it is Tony_Knightcrawler. I have also added my shiny new M50. :)
Good suggestion, but I'll add the ship when it comes out.  Saves some people the trouble of switching on the roster now, then changing their mind when it comes out and switching it back.

Based on Shepard's current 1900 pilot estimate it looks like we have about half of them listed on the asset doc and of those only about half have ships listed (eye balling). I'm guessing we're at about 7500 ships based on current ship total and my assumption that most of the high ship count people are already on the asset roster.

I've just added the new alien ships to the spreadsheet, hope you don't mind.

I see they're up for sale now, so that's no problem at all, bah. Thanks for taking care of that for us!

Saw we had someone messing around with the Asset Roster sometime yesterday. Don't know much about those things, but can you see where it came from, Sketch, or check to see if there were any other changes other than the obvious two?

Unfortunately I see all users as "Anonymous", so I don't know who messes with it, but I can see what they do and reverse it.

Ok, cool. The important part is covered then.

I think we should add Operation Trident people to the roster as a separate tally, so if they are trying to infiltrate, we'll see that they are already on the list.

I'm with Ben on this, that we only legitimize them by recognizing them.  The op is still a year off, and by that time, Trident or any other griefer operation will fall apart and be forgotten.  Best thing we can do is ignore it.  If griefing ops maintain traction as OPPF approaches, then we can worry about them.  I'll keep an eye out for them, but I won't publicly acknowledge any of them.

Granted, I've ridiculed them in their own thread, so I might not be practicing what I preach so well...

I totally get that and agree. This document isn't exactly the public face of OP... but it's possible it might be at some time in the future. Well, a few people should be taking names *somewhere.*

I agree with writing the names down, but not in an open list like our asset rooster.

And that picture 909x30874  :o but nice work

Guild should only be added if that guild is participating as a guild.

If your guild is not OFFICIALLY participating, then you'll just be considered an independent until such time that your guild either decides to officially join, or the operation is concluded.

Copying and pasting a post from Operation Pitchfork main thread in the hope of increasing my chances of getting proper ship assets:

Fellas, I've created a quick and dirty Python script (2.7.x) to generate fleet images from asset images using Image Magick. I reckon this would be useful to easily update the Operation Pitchfork fleet images and probably for other organizations out there.

Bear in mind I'm no Python wiz (I've used it because it aws the only scripting language available at my machine at the time) and the code is messy, with plenty security flaws (all those os.system and shell=True with raw string concatenations...), there's zero error handling and there's still a lot of stuff missing. It pretty much violates every programming practice ever conceived by mankind.

Still, it is working and that is enough for me at this time, if I have time I'll update it later on. I've placed it on <a href="https://github.com/umbah/scfleetgen">Github, so if anyone wants to improve it I'd appreciate it.

Some improvements to be done (I'm not sure I'll have the time to deliver them, if someone's willing to step up I'd appreciate)

 • Allow offset between the ship images

 • Allow setting a vertical offset between ship types

 • Allow setting up the quality of the conversion

 • Allow resizing assets prior to merging

 • Write ship labels

 • Rewrite all external calls to use proper os.subsystem calls. Also, replace those nasty string concatenations with safe string substitution

 • Verify whether input is sane before processing

 • Error handling

 • Command line options

 • Settings on external file

The usage is described on the README. Once again, <a href="https://github.com/umbah/scfleetgen">this is the repository address. Bear in mind there are still several issues.

Here's a crappy example output of Operation Pitchfork fleet. It's crappy like taht because I've used assets from different sources (with different background colos) with different levels of quality. If I can get my hands on some decent assets, I'll create a new one with decent quality later on.
Note: Xi'An scout is missing and the variants aren't separated.

Here's a wider one:

Bear in mind that until an option to setup asset resize and/or quality of the output is coded, you must ensure that your asset image files have a reasonable size (resolution) before trying to build the fleet image. I've tried to make one using <a href="https://forums.robertsspaceindustries.com/discussion/40114/show-your-fleet-get-the-resources-here">skuripanda's assets for Pitchfork fleet, but it has been running for over an hour with no sign of stopping, ate the entire PC memory, and given the size of the intermediate files, I'm expecting an output that's on the GB range.

Actually, someone else pointed me to this: http://raylehnhoff.github.io/SCFSD
And it's respective git repository:https://github.com/Raylehnhoff/SCFSD
Which pretty much made my endeavour pointless at the moment.

Regardless, I might eventually do some work in there again: I was getting close to making a second push to the repository with several fixes and improvements. While the browser based approach is quite user friendly, I'm usually happier with a script friendly cli interface.

In case you're interested, here is the git repository address (bear in mind it is still that nasty first version in there. I might not push any updates for a while, and the current code I have in my machine is broken. I'll push when I have the time to fix it):
https://github.com/umbah/scfleetgen

Some things I was working on, in case you are considering doing something over there:
- Both the run config and the fleet data being defined in external files (ini for run config and .json for fleet data).
- Ini sections being treated as configuration aliases, so that several different run configurations could be kept inside a single file (sharing variables when appropriate). Two command line options could be used to define a different configuration file (otherwise uses the default) and a different configuration alias (otherwise use the default).
- Replacing those atrocious process calls with secure ones, adding multithreaded processing as an option
- Different console output levels and optional log to file
- Command line options for every single configuration file entry, plus a few extra ones.

Some additional things I was considering for later updates:
- Being able to choose the tooling for the image generation. Image magic is fairly powerful and open up a lot of options (resizing images, different kind of outputs, template creation,...) but for simple/default execution it is quite slow. I was nurturing the notion of having a separate sprite based approach or something similar, for quick and dirty fleet image generation.
- Setting up templates for "reports" or something like it (meaning a few predefined outputs with a couple of variables, like ship names, org name, org logo, and so on).
- Allow using a separated images as background (stretch and tile options)
- Having an svg option: generating fleet images from svg assets. Not only it would be blazing fast (no need for image processing), but also scalable. The issue would be having svg assets to start with.
- A separate script that would generate a fleet file automatically from the asset google docs spreadsheet (hey, since we're being lazy...)
