Specialized Connie Squadron
Hi not sure if this correct location for this idea, but has anyone given thought to specialized squadrons?
I am sure there are fighter groups (Hornets,300I's & so on) but was wondering if anyone had thought of
creating a dedicated missile boat squadron consisting of Connies & maybe a few Retaliator's. Was thinking of
what a rain of missiles a well trained & coordinated group could do. Maybe a first wave attack against a king ship to take out turrets & fire control, but just a thought, won't know more until we can fly them & see what they are capable of, but if anyone is interested let me know.

I've been thinking about such things for quite a while, and have flown with such a group for two years in another game. Several are coming over to SC. You are correct about what a well trained and coordinated group can do. Takes both time and dedication to work those qualities up. Another factor is self-discipline and putting the squadron and the mission ahead of self-interest. A lot of people just want instant pew pew without investing into the team dynamic.

Connies (so far) can load large numbers of size 1 or 2 missiles. But not 3 or 4 required for armored capship work. But that is okay since their job in that scenario is to escort the Tali's.

Perhaps rather than specialized ship squadrons, specialized task squadrons. Such as extracting recon teams from Tiber, heavy escort and bombing capships, Raiding Vanduul supply lines, ect.

Yes, we have gone into extensive conversation involving various tactics and formations a couple of times in the chat and I believe Marcus should still have a list or 2 of the ideas we went over so we can hit them up for further detailed conversation later. The more ideas we have to explore the more options we can have available and we will explore every option, if you have any more thoughts or ideas please feel free to post them :)

Well thanks guys, appreciate the feedback & willing to help however I can.
I currently have 1 Connie,1 Freelancer misc & 1 Hornet, I do ok with the Hornet but am sure
will need to train some to utilize all of the Connies assets & minimize the constraints.
But hey like they say getting there is half the fun ! Just a fyi what me & Papa Wulf have done is to
get on chat for OPPF on RSI site & then have one of us sign into the game & then put game friend
code on chat. I know this is not as good as TS but would give us a little experience as to how each of us
flys & to start formulating basic flight formations & protocol for the various op's we will be doing.
I usually check chat once or twice a day in the eveining around 19:00 Eastern time & thats 0700 pm
for the civies out there jkt, but let me know as I am usually up for a game of VS & always interested in learning more.

The Connies also could be a boarding ship if you have several class 9 armor units in the hold. Get close to the Kingship, latch to hull, open the cargo bay and deploy Marines before dusting off.

Yeah, organized squads such as these can and usually are lethal.  My Org currently has a fleet of 10 redeemers that are going to be our primary boarding forces.  Our plans as an individual organization is to capture and repurpose Vacon craft if possible. It seems like my org is specializing in larger gunships rather than dogfighting starships.  I'm still looking in on getting a Reclaimer.

All things said, I think specialized units such as these will be important assets.

Just a thought, but i want a "Drillers" Harvester Carrier ship. Use it as a small carrier maybe? I believe the Harvester's and the Communication ships should be a first and primary target. *The battles seem to all have changed planetside after the second generations Harvester units came out and began replicating themselves. They are self replicating Reclamiers I believe. That's dangerous!

*From Star Map data:
Tomb is not a permanent graveyard, however: the wreckage which accumulates there is in turn devoured by massive Vanduul harvesters. These mechanical beasts ingest all forms of matter and convert them for use by the Vanduul war machine. The harvesters found on Tiber have an even more terrifying dual purpose: they seem to be the source for the newer harvesters that have been dropped onto Human colonies during raids. These "mother harvesters," visually no different from harvesters observed elsewhere, are, in effect, duplicating themselves to spread terror throughout the galaxy. Everything from starship wrecks to the bones of fallen soldiers ultimately feed the very enemy they were attempting to defeat.

And thus the Harvs are a two-fold Primary Target: 1. Feeding the Vanduul economy, and 2. Destruction of OUR salvage and the remains of our fallen.

Though I think it'd be poetic justice to capture a few and turn them loose on other Vanduul worlds, the logical tactic that I can see is utter annihilation aside from capturing a few for Intelligence and R&D purposes.
Anyone got a Con Andromeda Physical Goodies package you're thinking about melting for a Digital? Send me a note--maybe we can make a deal.
