Any volunteers for whipping the Wiki into shape?

Is not in the best of states at the moment.

Edit: To make a long story short, we need reasons for people to return to this website that don't involve Operation Pitchfork proper. If the wiki here becomes the go-to wiki for the Star Citizen universe, for example, then that will keep awareness of this operation that much more active.

So to that end, we need:

1) Infobox templates. Ships, Systems, Species, Companies, Equipement, People
- Obviously, people making these will have to be rather familiar with mediawiki formatting.

2) Ditto, for categories.

3) People filling out the above items for individual subjects
- Does not take nearly so much skill.

4) Populating graphics is also necessary.

I can do template design, but my time is not infinite, so would really appreciate it if anyone who knows how is willing to assist with that.

I have no experience and not a huge amount of time, but if you want to designate me a 'smallish' task to maintain, happy to have a go.

I'll help as much as I can however my plan to start now is somewhat hindered by my inability to access the Star Citizen website (seems to be down for me)

Major sites being down are not forever. Normally >_>

Thank you!

Have started working, I'll try to get a (very; seriously don't expect much more than a paragraph about each 'core' ship) basic introduction to each of the ships... I'm a lot out of practice as it has been at least two years since I last worked on a wiki (Guild Wars) thus I've forgotten... well, everything.

I do need some guidelines on how the content will be done - I'm currently writing a neutral perspective however if desired I can include some of the marketing and community hype around certain vehicles (probably under a seperate section).

I will also not be adding pictures because uh, I never did that on Guild Wars and basically I would break stuff. Someone else can do that part.

EDIT: As an update, I've loaded up an extremely basic page for the F7C. I uh, couldn't think of much to say at the moment so limited it to an introduction (gonna flesh it out in a second), the specs and a bit of probably well known trivia.

I have loads of time. What I lack is any clue as to what I'm doing. So if someone wants to teach me, I'm willing to give it a try. Or just gather info for those who do.

All four Hornet Variants written up; currently you can get to them by searching their full designation as per the Brochure, I also wrote a few redirects for what I see as common searches in (Ghost, Tracker, Super Hornet, F7C) I can add more if needed.

I made an infoship template that should make the task easier. You can see it used on the Super Hornet page.

I'll do small edits, like changing F7C hornet to F7C "Hornet" in the Superhornet page.

Basically small things that annoy people with OCD.

I want to help, but I'm terrible at Wikis. I will, however, be using it as a resource to grab up any of the art or texts to put on the Facebook page. So I appreciate the work.

Hello everyone I just discovered this little thread but yes. At my work for our department we have a wiki mostly for easy and simple documentation for the kind of software, hardware, and peripherals stored in a room and link it to a software page with more info on top of that. So I would say it is very informational wiki that I am use to working with never worked on any special themes or images. but if you guys hatch out something I have no problem messing with it to figure it out to make the wiki more presentable. And if you haven't check out what I have done so far. I'm mostly dumping the raw info from the threads on RSI into the wiki.

"Introduction" sections are pointless in most cases. Was a reason I stripped it from the Super Hornet mockup :-p

Ya that is fine I added it since it seems uniform to the other ship pages that were already created but I think description is a better term to use which I'll start changing.

Accidentally hit modify >_> Embarrassing.

Mine was the latest edit for the ships in general - intended to be an example for future ships >_>

Should not need to end up with a table of contents at all.

Oh me putting the = Ship Info = creates the table of contents and all that jazz if you don't want that I can remove it.

Really the only reason I have the Description thing is to add the little back link to take you back to the ship page.

The ship page should be Category:Ships and the various ship types should be given the category accordingly (rather than the individual ships).

I just went through and connected a bunch of links, lets try to fill in the pages that are already there then make new ones

I am pretty elite at BBCode and I've done many wiki's before. I know how to make them look proper and correct. I'm no grammar nazi or spelling nazi but I'd say I'm pretty good at my written language. If you have the information, even a huge freaking four paragraph of it, I can break it down and put it where it needs to go. Either confront me or PM me if needed. I don't mind doing free labor.

Edit: I know some light html, but by that, I mean; aesthetics. I don't do coding.

Bumping to raise interest again. We desperately need help with the wiki

Xer, I sent you a PM about the wiki, for some odd reason whenever I'm on the wiki it logs me out of my account. I'm Wyoming to help populate and clean up the wiki, but I need help figuring out that hurdle first.

To fill everyone in on progress:

I finally have the right permission and setting stuff to start on the wiki!

As of right now, I'm bouncing all over the wiki, laying "groundwork" in the form of basic sections and descriptions. As the wiki stands, it'll be a while before it looks good, but I'm adding content wherever I can.

If others want to jump in and help, that would be stellar. Even if it's spell checking,  or adding one or two extra lines of information, every bit helps.

If I remember correctly, Diamondback is our historian? If so, he/you should totally have permissions too, and you can help me flesh this thing out!

You might notice a LOT of red links right now. That's just temporary. Each one of those will lead to pages with content, I just like to do pieces of sections at a time to grow every section at a level rate.

But anyways, I TOTALLY welcome more volunteers though, especially if you know more about wiki stuff then I do ^_^
