Many people seemed to think the same thing.

I know that OPPF has been acknowledged several times before, but this would be the next level.

I bet once alpha/beta happens, there will be a lot more attention to this.

I'm just concerned that people will try to ruin the event like I've seen many times in EVE and Planetside. People will definitely try to be dicks, but hopefully they'll just be a minor annoyance

Indeed there is sure to be those who will interfere with other players actually trying to enjoy the op, I plan to do my best to ensure that such occurrence will be limited. Primarily once thing discussed is perhaps a security group with random patrols and run on a dispatch system to cover high value assets and make responses quick to any threats whether it be Vanduul raiders, non Vanduul NPCs such as pirates or even other players looking to ruin someones day.

For now as with most things atm such plans are hypothetical till we get in to the PU but if you have any ideas in regards this great, the more options and ideas we have to explore the better. :)

Personally I would agree with S777 that there is plenty of work that will need to be done.

The B0Oty Call link you posted pretty much sums up what our target goal is going for. Now does that mean that this is a Tip of the hat to Operation Pitchfork? Not exactly.

But, its just simply putting the pieces in place to allow for the lore to finally fit with what we are planning to get done once the OP launches.

Now them reporting doing this now in the Lore is a  Smidge early in my opinion, for it be deemed prep work for Pitchfork. Because we are planning for so far down the road and still more then likely going to be another Year out still, this could just help get the mind set that if folks are going to work together ..... they better not try and cross the union of many other groups.

But, as the article currently goes, It's just Lore to help build the drive for whats going on in the verse. If it keeps building and building then yes we could even stake claim that this is a prep job in favor for us.

Funny, I've actually incorporated it into the Official History--that "Last Hurrah for the Tevarin" was a direct reference to Nescus and his Olympus crew--thought that news of traditional foes banding together out on the frontier would be the kind of thing to inspire a Popular Uprising to come join the party against the common foe.

Don't get me wrong. But, we could always say "Sounds like our influence is starting to spread there..."
But, we can't stake that it is Operation Pitchfork because of it being an event planning. Now we could pose that as a question to CIG if we will get requests from NPC organizations and groups to join or be apart of events.

But, it is worth a question to CIG about the article and it's relevance to us.

I think the day they directly call out OPPF in an in-lore article, I'm going to geek out a bit.

But then again based on the flak over the OPPF skin, the non-Forkers might lose their heads over "org favoritism" which is silly

I do recall CIG did ask us for some lore to help add more of our own articles to be potentially drafted and hosted in the dispatches and lore articles on the main site.
