It's a long way until Orion! November 07, 2014, 02:16:36 am "It's a Long Way Until Orion!" is based on an old WWI-era song called "It's a Long Way To Tipperary!" telling of an Irishman who had gone to London only to go back after his love declares that she's being forced to wed someone else unless he goes back to marry her instead. It was popular among soldiers due to the nature of wanting to go back to one's home, rather than songs that promised death and glory like those that preceded it. Luckily for us, in a twist of irony, "It's a Long Way Until Orion!" gives us just that, but with more Forkiness, telling the tale of a Forker leaving a message to their family, prepared to die a glorious death, so that the Vanduul may learn to prey upon humanity no longer.QuoteInto a stranger's Connie came a Terran on the Day To stay with other folks whose revenge they would gladly paySinging songs of death and glory, valor and of goreJessie got excited and shouted to one and all:It's a long way until OrionOperation Pitchfork! It's a long way until OrionTo the sweetest death of all!Goodbye, Earth and TerraFarewell to CasselIt's a long long way until OrionAnd our glory's there!Jessie sent a messageTo the folks way back at homeSaying "Should I not come backLet everybody knowI was not sitting idlybut saving you from harmAnd I took out 10 more of themUntil I bought my farm!"It's a long way until OrionVanduul bastards galore! It's a long way until OrionTo the sweetest death of all!Goodbye, Earth and TerraFarewell to Cassel! It's a long long way until OrionAnd our glory's there!"I promise on my life thatI'll make every Vanduul dieAnd if I don't succeed wellhey, don't say I didn't try!I must end this nowfor they are calling'To your ships!'It can't be that far now'til we arrive at Armitage!"It's not that far now until OrionWhere we'll give them what for!We aren't that far now until OrionTo the sweetest death of all!Prepare, my friends and comradesVanduul scum beware! It's a long long way until OrionAnd our glory's there!Remember Orion III!
