New Pitchfork Merchandise Store May 14, 2014, 08:40:30 pm Hello, Pitchforkers!I've re-launched the Pitchfork Merchandise store, located here. All items are available to ship worldwide. This is not a for-profit endeavor, I am just trying to augment the fun. Any questions, art, comments, or item suggestions can be posted here, emailed to me at arbitrarysketch@gmail.com, or messaged to me here or on the RSI forum.Currently Available:Campaign Medals (One-sided and two) and Ribbons:T-Shirts:Design 1: Front OnlyDesign 2: Front/BackPatches, plus 11 role specific patches designed by Crow:Challenge CoinsVelvet Display Cases for Challenge CoinsAcrylic Coin DisplaysHat/Lapel PinsAlso a Hand Forged version by TrItOnTrItOn also made Forged Key Rings and Belt BucklesNew Ribbons: (In order of precedence)These ribbons are not Pitchfork specific, but are available for anyone to use for their gaming cosplay or otherwise. No permission needed! I'm trying to get these to spread and hopefully become a standard. Long Service Ribbon - An indicator of loyalty, dedication, and experience, the Long Service ribbon is awarded for an amount of active service time as required by the wearer's individual branch or organization to qualify for such recognition. The time required to earn this award will differ depending on the institution presenting it, but all wearers of this award have demonstrated their commitment through long-standing service to their unit, guild, division, or organization. Recruiter Ribbon - For service to their organization by helping it grow, the Recruiter ribbon is awarded to servicemen who take on the added responsibility of seeking and evaluating new members, as well as making judgement calls on their suitability. Recruiters may also be available as resources to help new members to integrate into the group. Organizations may set their own criteria that this new recruit must meet before the recruiter qualifies for this award, but a standard of quality should be upheld. Servicemen will always come and go, and organizations will only thrive if they maintain a healthy inflow of new, quality members, facilitated by these recruiters. Expert Pilot Ribbon - The mark of an ace pilot in the making, this ribbon is awarded for attaining exceptional scores during a flight training or qualification course. This award is prized by graduates of military academies that offer air, space, or subterranean flight programs, signifying excellence in piloting performance in their craft of choice. The awarding institution may set its own score requirements for this award, but it should not be a minimum requirement for flight clearance. Recipients of this award have a bright future ahead of them in the field of aviation, and are often recruited into the ranks of prestigious naval squadrons or offered placement in more advanced flight training programs. Marksmanship Ribbon - A cut above basic weapon proficiency, the Marksmanship Ribbon is awarded for attaining exceptional scores during a weapons qualification course or re-certification. Criteria for the award will vary by weapon, course, and division, but high marks in accuracy and efficiency are most common among required scores. Recipients of this award qualify for review for additional marksmanship courses and sniper training within some institutions. This award should not be considered a minimum requirement for basic weapon qualification, but rather an aspiration for dedicated marksmen. Naval Training Ribbon - An indicator of combat-readiness, the Naval Training ribbon is awarded for attaining the minimum requirements in basic training to be qualified as a pilot, crewman, marine, or other serviceman in any naval branch. All naval servicemen will have earned this award upon initial proficiency training. It signifies that the navy is willing to trust this serviceman to face the demands of their military duties, and that even in the most stressful and dangerous situations, this man or woman will hold fast and perform their duties with courage.Happy shopping!-ArbitrarySketch Last Edit: June 29, 2016, 10:46:50 pm by ArbitrarySketch
Re: New Pitchfork Merchandise Store Reply #1 – May 16, 2014, 10:48:12 am Update: New Medals and Ribbons posted for interest checking! There are eight new ribbon/medal ideas posted on the store, all of which are free. These are just to gather interest. I will make a tally for each that is checked out like an order, and when one gets enough interest, it will go to the design phase and added to the store shortly thereafter. The art posted is just a placeholder, not actual ribbon art. Anyone who expresses interest in a ribbon or medal will be notified if the item is added to the store for purchase. Re: New Pitchfork Merchandise Store Reply #22 – January 05, 2015, 09:10:36 am Quote from: Custard on January 05, 2015, 07:59:57 am HahaYou laugh like you think that's meant as a joke, ma'am... *shakes head ruefully*I mean, if I communicated with MY customers the way CIG did with us about yanking the physical pledges... I'd be forced out of the research/consulting business so fast it'd make the amount and clarity of advance notice given on those pledges' end of availability look like a year's warning.Let me note for the record, one of my clients does a lot of business in China, so I know all about the games playedand hazards involved in outsourcing over there: going under-spec or revising spec to cut their material cost while sticking you with the check (example: Ares Games, my client, is having a MASSIVE PR nightmare with a line of miniature sailing ships because the factory decided to weaken the masts and many of the Wave 2 ships BREAK in shipping) or missing deadline because of bumping your run back on the schedule to accommodate someone who bribed them to reschedule their run first. So I can see reasons for wanting to get out of that game... Last Edit: January 05, 2015, 09:16:10 am by Diamondback
Re: New Pitchfork Merchandise Store Reply #23 – January 09, 2015, 01:36:21 pm Coins and Pins are in and shipping. Belt buckles I'm not sure about making, not heard it brought up until now, and I'd question the interest level from the community. I have to make the initial investment into each item (which is significant), and I'm not convinced it would be worth it for belt buckles. For the Guardians of Orion Patch, that may be something that comes later. I am planning on opening up the business to make customized ribbons, medals, and patches for other orgs. Instead of me making the investment, though, the orgs will have to pay for their merchandise in full. Guardians of Orion may fall under that category.
