recruitment video January 15, 2014, 09:41:28 am Suggestion/request to those who do this sort of thing: A recruiting video using AC DC Thunderstruck or Shoot to Thrill; definitely closer to beta & using in-game footage of DFM/alpha/beta dogfights Yeah, AC DC fan myself I would do it myself except I don't know how.
Re: recruitment video Reply #1 – January 16, 2014, 10:54:15 pm Noted: will pass this along to our "video dudes" hehehe
Re: recruitment video Reply #2 – January 17, 2014, 03:19:17 am I'll keep it in mind. We'll just need a lot of DMF footage and perhaps some ground stuff when it comes out. Of course we'd need a bunch of actors to stage boarding actions and cooperation of the scythe aggressor squadron if we want to get elaborate rather than mostly the same sort of shots of Hornets blasting away at something.Perhaps something for a crew to work on at the end of alpha.
Re: recruitment video Reply #3 – January 17, 2014, 09:05:42 am I've been dwelling on the issue of getting recordings done with actors. I may or may not be able to pull something off. I'll let you guys know in the next month or so if I can. Stretching myself thin with a lot of things right now.
Re: recruitment video Reply #4 – January 17, 2014, 05:37:04 pm Yea ACDC have some great tracks, for those who haven't been graced by their musical talenthttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v2AC41dglnMThat'll be the song in question.
Re: recruitment video Reply #5 – January 18, 2014, 10:42:35 am I reckon I could get a number of my troops together to form a boarding party. Good way to test the death mechanic too XD
Re: recruitment video Reply #6 – January 18, 2014, 02:17:55 pm Just take your time and don't be in any sort of hurry B
Re: recruitment video Reply #7 – January 21, 2014, 09:25:51 am Yeah, no rush, just an idea of mine. I could provide clips via shadowplay of DFM and/or boarding testing if wanted.

I am going to be streaming A LOT of that stuff myself, since you mention Shadowplay... hehehe
Re: recruitment video Reply #9 – January 21, 2014, 08:05:41 pm We should get together a list of good sci-fi movies, shows, and/or games that have good space combat scenes in them. Or just good elements of futuristic battles as well. Then we could have a resource for video editors to work from.
Re: recruitment video Reply #10 – January 22, 2014, 07:39:34 pm I'd tend to agree that if we can use in-game footage as opposed to other games/movies it would have a better feel to it. For me I believe we need to convey a clear message to our audience and potential recruits, so when they finish watching our stuff they are left with a definite idea of what the cause is about, what they can do to contribute and that they should join up.I totally understand that in the short term we are struggling for this type of content and using other sources of footage is cool, but moving forwards my feelings are that in-game stuff does this a little better than using other sources.
Re: recruitment video Reply #11 – January 22, 2014, 09:41:36 pm No, I agree with you as well. My suggestion was meant to be a stop-gap for our current situation. Even when we get the DFM, we're going to be short of ship types for video purposes, since it will only have a few ships in it at the beginning.
Re: recruitment video Reply #12 – January 23, 2014, 06:00:52 am All true, we'll have another vid up on the youtube channel soon as well. Almost finished the next installment of my OPPF report series.
Re: recruitment video Reply #13 – January 23, 2014, 01:10:46 pm Definitely looking forward to it, Wrath!
